I thought I would go back to my First Post on Billion Dollar Baloney way back in April 2006 + see what I had to say! Well over 3,000 Posts later + I still haven’t made a Thin Dime Blogging!! ;)) I think a lot of fellow Bloggers share this frustration with me! Hopefully this New Blog will share some Tips + Insight on How to Make Money Online Blogging!!

I’m starting this blog with the idea of making $$$. Basically I want ALL people to have the ability to earn a decent living doing what they love to do!
It’s a little “pie in the sky” but i think with Web2.0 we’re on the cusp of a new revolution.
I’ve also started a Blog at Go Daddy but I don’t like their Quick Blog tool - it gave me a headache just trying to get started & whatever i do has to be Fun, Enjoyable & NO Stress!! ;))
Currently i post a lot of photos on Flickr & i have blogged some here over the past year but i have yet to have a single visitor!!!! ;)))
So yeah i got my work cut out for me.

OK let’s Dive In!
I first got the Bug with Eric Giguere’s excellent Book Make Easy Money With Google and AdSense !! It is an awesome source of No Nonsense Info for Bloggers without any of the usual Hype that plagues a lot of this popular niche.
Reading Dot Com Mogul John Chow’s Blog he points out something interesting in his Income Report for August 2007.
“Total Blog Income For August 2007: $17,828.61″
What I found Mind Boggling in addition to the $$$ amount was the Fact he uses several Ad Sources to Earn that Money + that Google AdSense which got the whole Ball rolling for him now accounts for Less than 3% of his Income! He also offers a Free eBook just for subscribing to his Blog + I would Highly recommend it to every Blogger.
There are literally Tons of alternative Affiliate programs + Ad Networks out there. I will just start with 3 I was aware of & will be using on this Blog.
First is Kontera - What I like about it is it ties the Ads to the Words your Readers are reading so if it something of Interest to them they are more likely to Click on that Ad & Earn you some Money! Whatta Concept!!

Next is AdBrite which I thought I saw on Pete Cashmore’s Mashable but his Ads may change + I think it’s important to Showcase some of the Smaller Bloggers who are trying to Make Money like the Big Boys!! Tired but Happy has a great Post on AdBrite & I thought her following statement summed up Brilliantly what 99% of us are going through!
“Okay, some of us are probably making good money from the ads on our blogs. The rest of us, not so much. Of course, we’re not doing this for the money, right? I certainly hope not, because for most of us, the money sucks.”
Yeah there is no Get Rich Quick scheme to this - It will take Work + Perseverence. Plus you will Learn something along the way, Meet some nice people & hopefully have some Fun & Share a Few Laughs. ;))
Finally Text Link Ads is very popular & one Enterprising Young Blogger using it is Carl Ocab a 13 Year Old Blogger from the Philippines. If Carl can Do It! then hopefully some of us Old Fogies should be able to as well!!

There are a whole lot of people out there who are studying the theoretical direction of this new web thing. I think the two monikers that I see a lot of are the terms Web 2.0 and Folksonomy. Ellyssa Kroski has a brilliant assessment of this in her blog Infotangle. Many have written and blogged about this but I think she is really on point. She talks about the emerging trend using social software and ‘tags’ to get found in the ether. “One in which the user has the power to effect their own online experience, and contribute to others”, This brings about a disconnect to the people who are trying to use this form of spontaneous ’social engineering’ to their own ends in the online marketing space. They can imagine it, speculate and theorize but the fact of the matter is that the power of understanding lie with the people who are active members of these vibrant, rapidly growing online communities. I am a member of Flickr and del.icio.us, Facebook and a ton of other ’social networking’ sites.
There is a photographer and personality that has come to my attention recently that has been deeply immersed in the Flickr space so much so that I think he is an emerging star of this social networking phenomenon. His name is Billy Warhol and he encompasses that glittering fabulousness of the type of celebrity you might see at Monaco, Cannes or Paris during the height of the social season. You can see it in his extensive lists of contacts and groups on his Flickr profile. The man radiates Glam ! on the online sphere of the Flickr space. The challenge arises out of taking success from the online community sphere and translating it into a ‘brick and mortar’ reality. Billy is a visionary in this ‘New Web Order’ and I have followed many of his leads, and those leads have led to unexpected success, happiness and fulfillment !
