I thought I would go back to my First Post on Billion Dollar Baloney way back in April 2006 + see what I had to say! Well over 3,000 Posts later + I still haven’t made a Thin Dime Blogging!! ;)) I think a lot of fellow Bloggers share this frustration with me! Hopefully this New Blog will share some Tips + Insight on How to Make Money Online Blogging!!
Hi!
I’m starting this blog with the idea of making $$$. Basically I want ALL people to have the ability to earn a decent living doing what they love to do!
It’s a little “pie in the sky” but i think with Web2.0 we’re on the cusp of a new revolution.
I’ve also started a Blog at Go Daddy but I don’t like their Quick Blog tool - it gave me a headache just trying to get started & whatever i do has to be Fun, Enjoyable & NO Stress!! ;))
Currently i post a lot of photos on Flickr & i have blogged some here over the past year but i have yet to have a single visitor!!!! ;)))
So yeah i got my work cut out for me.
I wasn’t kidding about being a Newbie at this - so we’ll see if this works*

OK let’s Dive In!
I first got the Bug with Eric Giguere’s excellent Book Make Easy Money With Google and AdSense !! It is an awesome source of No Nonsense Info for Bloggers without any of the usual Hype that plagues a lot of this popular niche.
Reading Dot Com Mogul John Chow’s Blog he points out something interesting in his Income Report for August 2007.
“Total Blog Income For August 2007: $17,828.61″
What I found Mind Boggling in addition to the $$$ amount was the Fact he uses several Ad Sources to Earn that Money + that Google AdSense which got the whole Ball rolling for him now accounts for Less than 3% of his Income! He also offers a Free eBook just for subscribing to his Blog + I would Highly recommend it to every Blogger.
There are literally Tons of alternative Affiliate programs + Ad Networks out there. I will just start with 3 I was aware of & will be using on this Blog.
First is Kontera - What I like about it is it ties the Ads to the Words your Readers are reading so if it something of Interest to them they are more likely to Click on that Ad & Earn you some Money! Whatta Concept!!
“A contextually relevant keyword that is discovered in real-time on a web page from within Kontera´s vast network of publishers, and is automatically turned into a link to the most relevant ad from among Kontera´s thousands of advertisers. With ContentLink™ publishers generate incremental revenue while advertisers reach their most targeted audience on a Cost-Per-Click basis.”
Next is AdBrite which I thought I saw on Pete Cashmore’s Mashable but his Ads may change + I think it’s important to Showcase some of the Smaller Bloggers who are trying to Make Money like the Big Boys!! Tired but Happy has a great Post on AdBrite & I thought her following statement summed up Brilliantly what 99% of us are going through!
“Okay, some of us are probably making good money from the ads on our blogs. The rest of us, not so much. Of course, we’re not doing this for the money, right? I certainly hope not, because for most of us, the money sucks.”
Yeah there is no Get Rich Quick scheme to this - It will take Work + Perseverence. Plus you will Learn something along the way, Meet some nice people & hopefully have some Fun & Share a Few Laughs. ;))
Finally Text Link Ads is very popular & one Enterprising Young Blogger using it is Carl Ocab a 13 Year Old Blogger from the Philippines. If Carl can Do It! then hopefully some of us Old Fogies should be able to as well!!

There are many ‘get rich quick’ scams….who honestly believes that these ‘guru’s’ are going to sell the secrets to making thousands a week for a few dollars? They make their money off the backs of the people they dupe into promoting their product for them.
Firstly you need a product, and there are hundreds of thousands out there, a website, google ads, search engine optimized, you can add in clickbank and amazon, ebay etc, but you need to cloak your links and encrypt your html.
Go to a website, in the menu bar click on View then Source, it all opens up before you and anybody can steal it!
I could go on but I’ll leave it at that for now LOL

Normally on my other Blog it is very Easy for me to Blog from Flickr but last night just pulling this Basic Info + Links to Sources here took maybe 2 to 3 Hours. & as we all know Time = $ Money! & there are so many Great Blogs out there + those Folks should be Paid!!

John Chow also has a killer blog design, which is another key factor to attracting and keeping visitors. (hence revenue). Prominently placed optin forms, RSS icons, top post, comments, can all contribute to getting a blog that makes money. (I’m still working on it, which is why I may use the same designer John Chow did)
